Privacy Policy

Short version: there are no accounts and no advertising trackers. We keep a small search log so the popular-keyword list works, and we delete old entries automatically.

What we record

When you submit a search, the redirect endpoint writes one row to a local database. That row contains:

  • the keyword you typed, after cleaning (control characters stripped, whitespace collapsed, 50-character cap);
  • the destination site you chose (for example Google or Perplexity);
  • the page path the search started from (for example /site/ai-chat/);
  • the timestamp;
  • your IP address and browser user-agent string, used only to detect automated traffic and abuse.

Search logs older than 90 days are deleted automatically. We do not use them to build a profile, we do not sell or share them, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.

What we do not do

  • No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to.
  • No advertising or analytics scripts. No Google Analytics, no pixels, no third-party tags.
  • No cross-site tracking. We set no advertising cookies and no persistent identifiers.
  • No result storage. We never see the results page — the redirect hands you to the destination site.

Cookies and local storage

MuchSearch sets no cookies of its own. The search cards use your browser's sessionStorage to remember the keyword you typed while the tab is open; it is cleared when you close the tab and it never leaves your device.

Destination sites set their own cookies once you land on them. That is outside our control — check their policies, or use a private window if you would rather not keep them.

Third parties we send you to

When you click a search card, your keyword is transmitted to the site you chose. That site may log the query, your IP address and your browser details under its own privacy policy. If that matters for a particular search, pick a privacy-oriented engine on our Web Search channel (DuckDuckGo, Startpage, Brave, Mojeek) or use a private browsing window.

Children

MuchSearch is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your requests

If you want a specific search log entry deleted, or you have a question about this policy, email [email protected] with the approximate date and the keyword used. We will remove the entry and confirm by reply.

Changes

If this policy changes — for example if advertising is introduced — the updated version will be published on this page before the change takes effect, and the "last updated" date below will change.
